My name is Colin and I'm a photoholic.
I live in the town of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. I've always had an interest in photography, for as long as I can remember I've carried around a camera of some description, my mother had an interest photography and art as did my grandfather before her. I remember as a kid, in a time of wind up TVs with three channels, staying at my grandparents house and preferring to watch my Grandpas slideshows.
I studied Photography and Visual Media in Clydebank College before moving on to and HND in TV Production in Glasgow College of Building and Printing. I ended up moving back home and taking over the family business, Cameron's Chip Shop and I didn't touch a camera for years until my wife got fed up of me talking about getting back into photography and bought me a camera for Christmas. Since then it's just exploded, I have no idea what the hell I did in those years I didn't have a camera.
I've tried my hand at pretty much every type of photography but really enjoy something that is technically challenging like capturing and exploding fruit as I shoot it with an air rifle or lightpainting on a beach, running around waving a torch around like a lunatic.
Here on the Isle of Lewis we are lucky enough to see the Northern Lights and chasing aurora has become a bit of an addiction. The countless beautiful beaches and places like the wonderful Callanish Standing Stones all make this a great place to be a photographer.
